My ephemeral installation in the gardens at Heritage Hill Museum and Historic Gardens has come down. These were tiny paste up children taken from historic photographs from Dandenong – thanks to the wonderful Dandenong and District Historical Society and their photograph collection and the Heritage Hill photograph collection.

There were more than 40 individual paste ups scattered through the grounds, and children and adults enjoyed hunting for them. The paste ups invited local children from the late nineteenth and early twentieth century into the gardens surrounding Laurel Lodge – gardens that would have been out of bounds to most local children at that time. Like much of my art the Little Ones sought to bring the past that lies beneath the present into view.
